Congratulations to those students and their families who celebrated the Sacrament of First Communion this weekend.  Hopefully it was a blessed weekend for all of you. 

Our Jump Rope for Heart has been changed from this Thursday to Friday, May 20th.  Please continue to sponsor our students for this worthy cause.  We are encouraging students to fundraise online this year.  Not only will ALL students get a SKIPPING ROPE with their 1^st pledge but remember that as a BONUS this year your school will collect DOUBLE (2X times) the amount of Heart Smart Points!!! This week marks our annual Catholic Education Week.  Pope Francis declared 2016 a “A Holy Year of Mercy” as a way for the Catholic Church to “make more evident the mission to be a witness of mercy”. Holy Year began on December 8, 2015 and will go to November 20, 2016.

On December 8, also, opened the Vatican’s Holy Doors which was to evoke the concept of forgiveness - main focus of a Holy Year. Looking closely at the sixteen bronze panels that make up the Vatican Holy Door, one will find images from Old and New Testaments,  with episodes from Scripture illustrating God’s mercy.

Catholic Education Week combines the theme of mercy and the act of opening doors of reconciliation, mercy and forgiveness to all around us.
