Incident at School
Published on Oct 18, 2016 17:39

Hello,

A letter was sent home with students tonight regarding the use of a "hold and secure" safety procedure at the school today.  This is NOT a lockdown procedure.  Students were free to roam about their classrooms and continue with their regularly scheduled activities within the classroom.

A "hold and secure" is used when we need to deal with situations which require privacy and maintaining a person's dignity.  An example is when a student, staff member or visitor is having a medical situation or if someone is in distress.  This reduced traffic in the halls allows us to respond efficiently to those needing the special attention.

We thank the students for their co-operation during our "hold and secure."
