Hello,

I hope all of you enjoyed the long weekend.

Thanks to all of our families who came out to our OPEN HOUSE on Thursday night.  It's a great way to start our school year and to meet everyone.  If you were unable to attend, please be sure to get in contact with your child's teacher to arrange a time to meet.  Establishing a relationship early on in the year will ensure continued success for your child.  Thanks to the many wonderful parent volunteers who were able to generously give their time to help with many aspects of our Open House.  It truly takes a village, and we are blessed at The Good Shepherd!

Monday is Orange Shirt day!

It’s a special day to remind everyone - all students - that they matter!

Orange shirt Day started 5 years ago (2013) in a school in British Columbia and continues to expand in schools across Canada.

It’s a story shared by Phyllis Wastad who is now a grandmother.  As a child she went to residential school. They were different from our schools today.  On her first day, her new orange t-shirt was taken from her and never returned. It made her feel sad - and like she didn’t matter.

Here's a look at what's happening at the school this week:
